Ahhh my pretty princess Aurora. Jordan and I adopted her on NYE 2010 when she was about six months old. When we met her, we couldn’t touch her – but she LOVED Bruiser so we were sold on her as a fit for our second dog. After a day or so with us, she showed us that she was actually a secret snuggler and she spent the majority of her time for the rest of her full 16 years cuddling someone.

Aurora Fajita Eleganza McStodia cuddled nearly every foster dog and visiting dog we ever hosted, only keeping her affections to herself toward the end of her life when the aches of old age pushed her into choosing unoccupied beds.

Bruiser was her best friend and most constant companion until he departed us in 2023. They loved hiking together, with him forging ahead and her steady at my heels the whole time. She also just loved being close to him, picking the bed he was on and cuddling up to him whenever she had the opportunity.

Wawa (as she was affectionately called), was a born supermodel, dedicated to the pose. She would hold a pose on any surface, seeming to know her best angles despite never reviewing a photo.

She also loved her little brother Pinto. Jordan and I used to joke that Pinto was actually her dog because she was so enamored of him.

For the majority of her life she basked in being Jordan’s dog. She loved him best and he reciprocated her love, emblazoning her name across his belly in Old English.

In her later years (and also her younger years) Aurora chose a softer life, tricking the boys off of the softest beds by pretending she wanted to play with them and snoozing deeply in whatever bed was closest to me. Her favorite beds weren’t beds at all, but rather throw pillows on top of the couch.

I’m going to miss this sweet girl and it won’t be the same without her, but I know she’s in good hands wherever Jordan and Bruiser await her in the next plane.

Love you baby girl.
