I had one of those days this week where I was able to let my whims take me a little and it all came together into a lovely series of events.
I started with jury duty – but since it was a Thursday and court is closed on Friday, they only needed jurors for one trial. I used my time in the waiting room to try out a new AI-centric process for work, which was really engrossing so I hardly noticed anything else until they released us at 11:30am.
I got on the trolley to head home when my friend Angelo texted me about something at Comic Con, which had just kicked off that morning. I ended up hopping off the trolley on the other side of downtown from the courthouse to meet Angelo for lunch and take in the spectacle.

We’d hoped to meet up for lunch this week anyway, so the timing was perfect! When I worked downtown I used to take walks through the madness on my breaks and it was a nice little return to that for the afternoon.
After lunch I headed home, tackled a few more work items, and then took advantage of the weather and headed to the fiesta island dog park with my lil Pinto Bean.

After the beach, Pinto and I went back home and were joined shortly after by Ace & Edy and their kiddo. They brought pizza and their little guy spent the evening exploring the garden.
All in all, one of those days where I got to see multiple friends, enjoy the beach, and generally enjoy where I’m at.
